Pixel 10: 10 Features I’d Love to See
Every year, Google rolls out a new flagship Pixel lineup, and in 2025, we’re expecting the Pixel 10 series to take centre stage. While we don’t have any leaks or rumours just yet, they usually start trickling in around this time. So, before we get bombarded with rendered images and speculative specs, I thought I’d put together my wishlist for the Pixel 10 series.
The Pixel 10 Lineup: More Variety, Please
I’d love to see Google stick to the same approach as last year with a full lineup: Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Fold. But you know what? A Pixel 10 Slim wouldn’t be a bad idea either. It could replace one of the models or be an entirely new addition. With Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge and rumours about an iPhone 17 Air, a slimmer Pixel could fit right in.
A Slimmer, Lighter Pixel 10
Speaking of slim, Google really needs to trim things down. The Pixel 9 was 8.5mm thick and weighed 198g. Compare that to the Galaxy S25 at 7.2mm and 162g—it’s a noticeable difference. A lighter, sleeker Pixel 10 would be much easier to carry around without feeling like a brick in your pocket.
Bigger Batteries (But Keep It Light)
I know, I know—asking for a slimmer phone and bigger batteries is a bit of a contradiction. But let’s dream big! A 6,100mAh battery in the Pixel 10 Pro XL? Yes, please. A Pixel 10 Pro Fold with over 5,000mAh? Sign me up. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold struggles to last a full day, so any improvement here would be a game-changer.
Make Pixel Sense Actually Useful
There’s a lot of talk about Pixel Sense, Google’s upcoming AI-powered assistant. Apparently, it’ll process data from Google apps, organize screenshots, and analyse media files, including AI-generated content. Sounds cool—but only if it’s actually useful and not just another AI gimmick that we all disable after a week.
Faster Charging—Google, Please!
Google’s charging speeds are seriously lagging behind. The Pixel 9 topped out at 27W wired and 15W wireless (unless you had the XL, which managed 37W wired and 23W wireless with a Google charger). Meanwhile, other brands are pushing 60W, 80W, even 100W charging speeds. The Pixel 10 series needs to catch up.
A True Performance Boost
The Tensor G5 chip should be aiming for performance levels on par with the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Apple’s A18 Pro Bionic. Will it get there? Probably not. But if Google wants to take gaming, content creation, and multitasking seriously, they need to step up their chip game.
Add a Telephoto Lens to the Base Pixel 10
Google, if the mid-range Nothing Phone 3a can include a telephoto lens, then the base Pixel 10 definitely deserves one. It doesn’t need a periscope-style zoom like the Pro models, but something to differentiate it from the budget-friendly Pixel 10a would be nice.
Keep the Good Stuff
Despite my wishlist, Google’s already doing a lot right with the Pixel lineup—16GB of RAM, fantastic displays, solid storage options, and some of the best smartphone cameras out there. If the Pixel 10 builds on that foundation while adding meaningful upgrades, it’ll be a winner.
When Can We Expect the Pixel 10?
Last year, the Pixel 9 series launched in August, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Google follows a similar timeline for the Pixel 10. Plus, with Android 16 expected to go stable around Google I/O, the Pixel 10 series will likely be among the first devices to ship with it.
That’s my wishlist for the Pixel 10—what about yours? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
